Wordle.net a great little text tool

Through my good friend Tia Carr Williams I became aware of a tool “Wordle

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

It works very quickly and may be just that extra thing you could use in the presentation of your materials. Here are some examples which took less that 10 minutes to make.

Word cloud of blogs in category Religion and Spirituality.

And here is one made from John 3 in the Bible.

And finally here is the word cloud for the pages of my business website for Dierckx & Associates.

Go try it yourself. I like this.

Protecting Children from CSEC in Disaster_ENG.pdf (application/pdf Object)

This manual, as the title suggests, is about how to protect children
from sexual violence and sexual
exploitation, specifically in disaster
and emergency situations. It is not
intended to be an academic report
but instead is a practical guide that we
hope will be of use to people working
directly in the field. The aim is to
provide fundamental information
to assist personnel working in
emergency situations in responding
to protect children, in terms of what can be done before disaster strikes
(which might be called ‘mitigation’ efforts), in the immediate aftermath
(the ‘response’) and in the longer term reconstruction phase (sometimes
called the ‘recovery’). Also included are recommended actions and
key considerations to be taken into account in the event of sexual
violence or sexual exploitation.
